On the occasion of International Biodiversity Day, the children in the forest school premises painted more than one picture on paper using attractive colours. He also won prizes for his paintings of an elephant taking a bath in a pond and a tiger resting in a cave. During this, the speakers also gave the message of wildlife conservation and protection of wildlife.
Since when and why International Biodiversity Day is being celebrated, information was also given about it. On Monday, 150 children from different schools participated in different competitions to create awareness to save biodiversity and conserve wildlife.
Biodiversity Day was celebrated in the presence of North Forest Division’s DFO Rakesh Damor, Ranger Rahul Sharma and other officers. On this occasion, painting, essay, speech competitions were organized by calling school students in Van Vidyalaya. Keeping the theme of conservation of diversity, wild and wild animals and its entry into life, students were asked to give essay, painting and speech on this. During this, the children painted pictures on the blank canvas with green, yellow and blue colours.
International Biodiversity Day being celebrated since 1993
In 1993, the United Nations General Assembly declared 22 May as International Biodiversity Day to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues. The period 2011-2020 has been declared as the Biodiversity Decade. In order to promote the implementation of a strategic plan on biodiversity, as well as to promote an overall vision of living in harmony with nature. The years 2021-2030 have been declared by the United Nations as the Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.

Created by Kendriya Vidyalaya student Shreyans Prajapati, a picture showing a herd of deer including elephants bathing in a river and tigers living in a cave was showing the entire wildlife and biodiversity. That’s why this picture was given the first prize.
