Aadi Utsav, which has become the identity of Mandla district, is going to be organized on 27 and 28 May. This event is being held on the banks of Maa Narmada and witness of the glorious history of Gondvanshiya Ramnagar. National and state level tribal representatives, public representatives and renowned folk artists will participate in the 2-day event of Mahasangam of Tribal Cultures etc. Union Minister Faggan Singh Kulaste inspected the venue on Friday and gave necessary instructions to the officials present.

Every tribal of the country is basically a clan

Union Minister of State for Steel and Rural Development, Faggan Singh Kulaste, the organizer of Aadi Utsav, appealed to the people of Mandla district and the state and countrymen to participate in this 2-day tribal festival. He has said in his invitation message that artists and tribal representatives from every corner of the country are participating in this tribal gathering. He said that tribes living in different places of the country may be geographically and culturally different, but basically every tribe is the same.

Outline of Day 1 Programs

According to the information received, the festival will start at 11 am on the first day of Aadi Utsav starting from May 27. The Chief Guest of the program, Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tavadkar will be present at the festival. There will be performances of folk artists in Aadi Utsav. Along with this, a discussion will be organized on the PESA Act.

An exhibition presenting glimpses of tribal life has also been organized at the venue. A stall introducing Digital India, Land Record Modernization Program is also being set up under the guidance of the Central Government. The programs of the first day will conclude with cultural presentations by folk artists.

Seminars and honors on the closing day

The 2-day Aadi Utsav will conclude on the evening of 28 May. Vishweshwar Tudu, Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, will be the chief guest on the concluding day. State Government’s Tribal Affairs Minister Meena Singh Mandve will also participate on this day.

On the occasion of the concluding day, a seminar based on the history, archeology and development of Gond kings and tribal legends will be organized. Scholars from various universities, local experts and experts from different fields will participate in this seminar.
