Rape victim commits suicide in Narmadapuram: FIR lodged only last month

An 18-year-old rape victim committed suicide by hanging herself in Kesala block of Narmadapuram district. The incident took place on Saturday around 12 noon. Last month itself, a case of rape was registered against a minor teenager for raping the victim by driving her away from the house. In the allegation, the child abuser is in the child reform home in Betul. The victim has turned 18 on the 6th itself. The teenager on whom the victim’s mother had filed a case. The victim was insisting to stay with him. She was angry with Kishore being sent to a child reform home. His dispute was going on in the house.

On Saturday afternoon at around 12 o’clock, he hanged himself on the roof of his house by making a noose of a pot in a pole. The victim’s mother saw the daughter hanging. On receiving the information, Kesla police station in-charge, ASI Bhojraj reached the spot along with the barbed staff. Police established order. The dead body of the victim’s panchnama was sent to Itarsi hospital for postmortem. Police did not find any suicide note at the spot. His body was cremated late in the evening. Station in-charge Inspector Ashish Pawar told that till the age of 18, she had run away from home twice before. Whose missing person was registered in the police station. In the first instance, the victim herself had told about running away from home, for the second time, the victim had met Pipariya with a juvenile last week. That teenager was sent to Betul Juvenile Child Reform Home on charges of kidnapping and rape. The mother of the deceased gave a statement that she was insisting to stay with that boy only. Otherwise she was threatening to hang. Today he ended his life by hanging himself. No suicide note has been found in the case. Prima facie, the reason for the suicide is the stubbornness of getting rid of that teenager and staying with him. More facts may come to the fore in the investigation of the case.
