Mumbai Major equity indices registered gains in early trade on Friday, tracking gains in global markets and continued foreign fund inflows.
During this, the 30-share Sensex of BSE climbed 135.43 points to reach 62,984.07. The NSE Nifty was up 42.1 points at 18,676.65. IndusInd Bank, Titan, Tata Motors, UltraTech Cement, Larsen & Toubro, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finance and Bharti Airtel were the biggest gainers in the Sensex pack.
On the other hand, Tata Steel, Mahindra & Mahindra, Infosys, SBI and Kotak Mahindra Bank declined. Global oil benchmark Brent crude was down 0.51 per cent at $75.57 per barrel. Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 212.40 crore on Thursday, according to stock market data.
