‘I have proposed to PCC chief Kamal Nath to give me a ticket and fight against CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. My father has been insulted, for which I have to take revenge. If approved, I will start preparing for the elections from now itself.
Deepak Joshi, son of former Chief Minister Late Kailash Joshi, had said this to the media some time back before joining the Congress. Then Joshi had said that PCC Chief Kamal Nath has also said to seriously consider his proposal. After this, he left the BJP and joined the Congress.
It seems that the Congress has taken this proposal of his really seriously, because it seems so from the indications being received from the Congress side. After joining the Congress, Joshi is going to enter Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s Budhni assembly for the first time. Why are they going to Budhni?
What are the limits of Budhni assembly. If he contests from Budhni, could the equation be in favor of Deepak Joshi. How comfortable will Joshi find himself in the Budhni assembly, know everything in sequence…
First know from where the Congress is going to make Joshi’s entry in the Budhni assembly.
In fact, the Congress is going to hold a meeting to save the constitution on Thursday, May 18, in Bhairunda (Nasrullaganj) of Sehore district and Budhni assembly. The meeting will be held at Bhairunda’s new bus stand from 2.30 pm. For the last few days, Congressmen are engaged in preparations for this. The Congress has made preparations to organize a large gathering of workers here.
The workers of District Congress Committee Sehore and Budhni Vidhansabha have been entrusted with the responsibility of making the meeting a success. The chief guest of the meeting is Sajjan Singh Verma, while the special guest will be Deepak Joshi. In this way Congress has made preparations for Joshi’s entry in Budhni Assembly from Bhairunda.

Save the Constitution meeting will be held in Bherunda on 18th May. In which Deepak Joshi will attend as a special guest.
The meeting is being promoted through social media. Sajjan Singh Verma, MLA from Sonkach assembly seat of Dewas, has also tweeted a video regarding the meeting from his Twitter handle, in which he is saying that “I am going to Bhairunda to save the constitution.
The basic sentiments of the constitution written by Babasaheb Ambedkar were buried by Mr. Narendra Modi. Shivraj Singh Chauhan buried. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has told 25 thousand lies. I am going to Budhni assembly to expose the false promises made to the people of the state. All of you friends are requested, let us fight these lies.
Deepak Joshi has also posted a post related to the meeting on his Facebook on Wednesday, in which it is written along with the poster that everyone has to come together, save the constitution. Must attend the Save the Constitution meeting. Apart from them, Pradeep Ahirwar and Ramu Tekam will also attend the meeting.
3 reasons that strengthen Joshi’s claim from Budhni seat
Deepak Joshi entered student politics in Bhopal in the 80s. Deepak may have been the leader of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, but he also had good relations with Congress and NSUI workers. Deepak specializes in political adjustments. Deepak Joshi used to lead the student council there while doing politics in Hamidia College.
Deepak did student politics in Bhopal and Budhni assembly comes in Sehore district adjacent to Bhopal. Budhni and its surrounding area is not new to Deepak. Budhni assembly comes under Vidisha Lok Sabha seat and it also includes Khategaon seat in Dewas district.

Hatpipalya assembly seat is at number 172 in the map of Dewas and Sehore districts. Khategaon assembly seat at 173 and Budhni assembly seat at 156. Looking at the map, it can be clearly understood that the boundaries of Budhni and Khategaon assembly seats are connected to each other. The boundaries of Sehore and Dewas districts are also adjacent to each other.
The boundary of Budhni assembly comes up to Khategaon assembly seat of Dewas district. Deepak Joshi was preparing to contest from Khategaon assembly seat in the last assembly elections, because that too is his belt. Khategaon seat is adjacent to Bagli-Hatpipalya.
The Joshi family has been interfering in the Bagli seat. For commuting to Bhopal one has to pass through Khategaon and Budhni assembly only, because all the areas are connected to each other. Even while being a minister, he has been active in the field. In such a situation, Deepak Joshi is not a completely new name and face for the people there.
People know him. From Ashta-Sonkachh side also the border of Dewas district meets with the border of Sehore district. In such a situation, Budhni seat and Sehore district is not unknown or far away for Joshi to contest elections.
Deepak Joshi’s father late Kailash Joshi has been the chief minister of the state. He also has a special connection with the people of the area. Everyone knew him too. Joshi will also get its benefit. Late Kailash Joshi has had a clean image. Deepak Joshi has also not been accused of corruption in his political career so far.
His identity is also as a clean politician. At the same time, the Congress is fiercely accusing the Shivraj government of corruption.
BJP won Budhni 7 times and Congress 5 times
Sehore is the home district of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and he is the MLA from Budhni assembly. The Budhni assembly seat is with the BJP since 2003, when Rajendra Singh Rajput was elected MLA. Since then, Shivraj Singh Chouhan is the MLA from here for four consecutive terms.
To penetrate this stronghold of BJP, the Congress has tried its level best, but is unable to penetrate. In the 2018 elections, the Congress had fielded former state Congress president Arun Yadav in front of Shivraj, but he too had to face defeat.
In 2013, Congress made Mahendra Singh Chauhan its candidate. Both were outsiders. From here till now, Congress has given opportunity to leaders from local to outside, but it has not got success. 15 years back definitely Congress had fielded local candidate Mahesh Singh Rajput. There is still no strong candidate.
Since the formation of the state, the BJP candidates have won the Budhni assembly seat seven times, while the Jana Sangh once and the Janata Party once. Congress won in five elections, while independent candidates were victorious in two.

About ten days ago, Deepak Joshi had reached Bhopal PCC office with the picture of father Kailash Joshi to join Congress.
