Jawan posted at SAF quarter guard in Gwalior stole the cash box of cooperative society kept in strong room. There were 4 lakh 73 thousand 360 rupees in the cash box. The incident is of Second Battalion located in Kampu police station area. The incident came to light on Friday morning when the cash box was found missing. On investigation, it was found that the jawan posted on night duty had stolen.
As soon as this was known, the jawan was searched and interrogated, then he confessed to the incident. The jawan was handed over to the police and complained against him. On the complaint, the police registered a case and recovered the stolen goods after questioning.
CSP Indarganj Vijay Singh Bhadauria said that constable Captain Pal, posted in the second battalion located in Kampu police station area, was on duty at the quarter guard between 10 to 12 o’clock in the night. While on duty, he stole the cash box of Mayur Cooperative Society kept in the strong room. There were about five lakh rupees in the cash box. The incident came to light in the morning when the employees of Mayur Cooperative Society came to collect the cash box, the cash box was missing. As soon as the cash box was found missing from the strongroom, there was a stir and the officers also reached the spot and called the jawans on duty for investigation and questioned them, all of them were telling themselves innocent. When the officers investigated, it was found that constable Captain Pal, who was posted on duty between 10 to 12 o’clock in the night, had executed the incident. As soon as this was known, the officer reached Kampu police station with him and complained about the matter. When the police registered a case against the accused and interrogated him, he accepted the crime and recovered the stolen cash.

The police have started interrogating the arrested accused jawan whether this is the first time the incident has happened or he has done this type of incident even before.

Commandant Asit Yadav told that the theft was revealed after watching the CCTV when the jawan was caught carrying the cash box. The jawan has been suspended and a departmental inquiry has been started against him.
