Tuesday Bhasma Aarti Darshan: By offering silver trishul and ornaments, make up like a king

The doors of the temple were opened at 4 am on Tuesday for the early morning Bhasma Aarti at the world-famous Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. After water consecration of Lord Mahakal, worship was done with panchamrit made of milk, curd, ghee, sugar and fresh fruit juices along with chanting of mantras. Baba Mahakal was divinely decorated in the form of a king with bhang sandalwood dryfruits.

Silver trishul and moon were offered on the head during offering ashes to Lord Mahakal, special makeup was done with hemp sandalwood. Lord Mahakal wore the silver crown of Sheshnag, silver headgear and rosary of Rudraksh along with a garland of flowers made of fragrant flowers. After offering fragrant flowers of mogra and rose, fruits and sweets were offered. A large number of devotees attended the Bhasma Aarti and took the blessings of Baba Mahakal.
