- Code Of Conduct Will Be Implemented, Voting Will Be Held For 23 Posts Of Councilor And Sarpanch And Panch

According to the announcement issued by the Madhya Pradesh State Election Commission for the bye-elections to the vacant posts of panchayats and urban bodies, election preparations have been started in Satna district. For this, the duty of officers and employees has been imposed. The date of polling has been announced on June 13. Along with this, the model code of conduct has also become effective in the constituencies.
Tell that under the by-election program, 23 posts of panch and 2 posts of sarpanch are vacant in gram panchayats of Satna district. Similarly, the post of councilor is vacant in ward number 43 of Municipal Corporation Satna and ward number 11 of Municipal Council Kotar. By-elections are to be held for these posts. Additional Collector and Sub-District Election Officer Shailendra Singh has issued notification of election for all the concerned areas. For the election of these posts, nominations can be submitted to the concerned Returning Officer till May 30 except on holidays. The Model Code of Conduct has come into effect in the respective areas.
Scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on May 31. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is June 2. Election symbols will be allotted on the same day. Polling in urban bodies will be held on June 13 from 7 am to 5 pm. Voting will be held in Panchayats from 7 am to 3 pm. Counting of votes in urban bodies and announcement of election results will take place on June 16 from 9 am.
The counting of votes for the post of Panch will take place immediately after polling in the polling station itself. Counting of votes for Sarpanch, Janpad Panchayat and District Panchayat member will be done from 8 am on June 17 at the development block headquarters through EVMs. The election result for the post of Panch will be announced on June 19, Sarpanch and Janpad Panchayat member election result will be announced on June 17 and District Panchayat member election result will be announced on June 19. Election of Panch will be done through ballot paper and ballot box and election for Sarpanch, Janpad and District Panchayat member will be done through EVM.
According to information, councilor Umesh Malik of Ward 43 of Satna Municipal Corporation had passed away due to illness. He was elected councilor on Congress ticket. The post has been declared vacant since his death.
