A wave of anger and attack has spread across social media platforms in India over the past two days, regarding the statements of the Indian broadcaster and activist Suresh Chavank, his support for the inciting rhetoric against Muslims and his demand for their expulsion from the country.
Suresh Shavank published tweets related to the escalations against the Muslim community in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, the threat of Hindu right-wing groups to Muslims and their demand to leave their homes and shops, and his assertion of expelling those he described as “devils” from India, which he described as “the land of the gods.”
