Japan’s public broadcaster NHK reported on Wednesday that a number of Self-Defense Forces personnel may have been killed in a shooting accident at a military shooting range in Gifu Prefecture, central Japan.

The authority did not immediately provide additional details about the number of dead, the cause and the perpetrator of the accident.
