Two sources closely related to the matter said – today, Monday – that the Public Prosecutor of Football in Italy had requested a deduction of 11 points from Juventus’ balance in the Italian Football League, in a new decision in the club’s transfer case.
The prosecution’s request comes after the highest sports authority in Italy last month canceled a ruling deducting 15 points from Juventus’ balance this season, with the football authorities asking for a new look at this case.
Juventus shares fell on the Milan Stock Exchange by 4.9%, following talk of a possible penalty.
A court hearing is expected later on Monday.
And before 3 matches until the end of the Italian League, including a match on Monday evening, Juventus ranks second with 69 points and comes behind Napoli, who secured the title earlier.
And if it is decided to deduct 11 points, then Juventus, one of the most successful clubs in Italy, will be excluded from the qualifying centers for European competitions next season.
And the Italian Football Association announced last Friday that Juventus will face a new sports trial against the background of allegations of irregularities in the club’s payments to players, as well as unnecessary relationships with players’ agents and other clubs.
As part of the new sports trial against Juventus, FIGC prosecutors allege that the club agreed to refund the majority of salary deductions related to COVID-19 without properly accounting for them in the records.
The federation said that the allegations indicate that Juventus have unnecessary relations with Sampdoria, Atlanta, Sassuolo, Udinese, Bologna and Cagliari, noting that the investigation is still ongoing with those clubs.
