What does the Netanyahu government have for Jerusalem and its people? Specialists in the Palestinian issue answer

The episode (25/5/2023) of the “Scenarios” program shed light on the provocative steps taken by the government of Benjamin Netanyahu, the last of which was holding a session inside a tunnel under the western side of Al-Aqsa Mosque, in commemoration of the 56th anniversary of the occupation of Jerusalem, in addition to the storming of a minister Israeli National Security Itamar Ben Gvir visited the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque for the second time since he assumed office.

The guests of the episode warned that the provocative steps taken by the Israeli occupation government headed by Benjamin Netanyahu aim to perpetuate the Judaization project and empty the city of Jerusalem of its original inhabitants.

The head of the Jerusalemite Commission for Combating Judaization, Nasser Al-Hadmi, confirmed that the escalatory steps taken by the Israeli occupation government aim to try to resolve the conflict with the Palestinians, believing that it is now able to do so.

Al-Hadmi said that the Netanyahu government – which is the most extreme and criminal against the Palestinians – wants to end the conflict by targeting the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the city of Jerusalem.

The occupation believes that there is no meaning to its presence in Palestine – as the head of the Jerusalemite Commission for Combating Judaization says – without its complete control over Jerusalem, and the demographic balance in it disturbs it, stressing that all its temptations to bring more settlers to it to change the demographic situation did not succeed, because it is the poorest city of the occupation cities.

Osama Al-Saadi, a lawyer and former Arab member of the Israeli Knesset, said that Zionism and the ruling institution in Israel believe that Jerusalem is the eternal, unified capital of Israel and should not be divided, stressing that the Zionist project aims to Judaize the city and try to empty it of its original inhabitants, and therefore the occupation government takes measures against the Palestinians, such as Withdraw identities.

Al-Saadi added that the occupation is trying to Judaize the city of Jerusalem and divide the Al-Aqsa Mosque temporally and spatially, and therefore settlers are allowed to storm, but despite the passage of 56 years since its occupation, Jerusalem is still a Palestinian, Arab, Islamic and Christian city.

Regarding ways to confront the Israeli measures, Al-Hadmi stressed that the United Nations should not be relied upon, because its previous resolutions against the Palestinian people were not implemented, but rather the steadfastness and unity of the Palestinian people alone should be relied upon.

Al-Hidmi regrets the situation in which the official Arab position has reached, as he suffices with meetings and gatherings that do not depart from denunciation and denunciation without practical measures.

He called for an Arab, Islamic and international position in support of the people of Jerusalem and the Palestinians, and to put pressure on the occupation to change its policies.

Warning against the demolition of Al-Aqsa

As for Dr. Muhammad Al-Halayqa, the former Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister, he confirmed that the Israeli project to Judaize Jerusalem is clear, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wanted to say through a meeting with members of his government in a tunnel under the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque that the land is theirs and the underground is theirs, in reference to their alleged structure. .

He added that Jordan is very concerned about this situation, and it is investing all the tools available to it to address it, pointing out that the tools that his country possesses are not sufficient to stop the Zionist project, and an Arab and Islamic effort must be made in this regard.

Al-Halayqa warned that Israel would not hesitate in the temporal and spatial division of Al-Aqsa, restricting the residents of Jerusalem and obstructing their access to Al-Aqsa Mosque, stressing that the final stage will be the demolition of the mosque and the construction of the alleged temple.

It is noteworthy that since Israel occupied the city of Jerusalem in 1967, it has been working hard to control it and change its features with the aim of Judaizing it through many violations and transgressions, in an attempt to find a narrative that supports the existence of a history of Jews in the Holy City and ending the Arab presence in it.
