Media reports: Mbappe informs Saint-Germain not to renew his contract after 2024

Reuters news agency quotedL’EquipeFrench (Lequipe) reported that Kylian Mbappe told his team, Paris Saint-Germain, that he would leave the French Football League champion, after the end of his contract next year.

And local media indicated that the French striker decided not to activate the clause to extend his contract for one season, and informed his club of this through a letter, and he may leave this summer, as Paris Saint-Germain will try to prevent him from leaving for free.

The 24-year-old has the right to agree with any team next January.

The Parisian team had already lost the efforts of Argentine World Cup winner Lionel Messi, who announced joining Inter Miami on a free transfer.

Paris Saint-Germain did not respond to a request for comment.

Mbappe was in a similar situation last year after his name was linked to the move to Real Madrid, but he extended his contract with the French champion.

Mbappe won the admiration of Real Madrid for a long time, and it was reported that the Spanish giant had previously submitted an offer amounting to 200 million euros in 2021, but he refused.

Real, who reached an agreement to include English midfielder Judd Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, may consider renewing his interest in including Mbappe, especially after the departure of the main striker, Karim Benzema, to the Saudi Al-Ittihad club.

Mbappe – who has grabbed the limelight since his inception as a young man – won the French League title 5 times with Paris Saint-Germain, but failed to win the Champions League title.

Saint-Germain signed Mbappe from Monaco in 2017 in a deal valued at about 180 million euros at the time, becoming the second most expensive player in the history of the game after Neymar, who joined from Barcelona for the same club, for 222 million euros.

Mbappe became Saint-Germain’s historic top scorer after scoring 41 goals in 43 games in all competitions this season, and helped the capital club win 11 local titles, a record.

Mbappe was chosen to be the captain of France after he led his country to reach the World Cup final in December for the second time in a row, where he scored 3 goals in the final match against Argentina, before losing on penalties.
