Hyderabad. Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Brian Lara admitted that Virat Kohli was at his best against his team but said it was difficult to explain why his side had lost six out of seven matches at home to make their Indian Premier League debut. (IPL)’s chances of reaching the playoffs also ended.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, who were already out of the tournament, made a good score of 186 runs for five wickets with the help of Henrik Klaasen’s brilliant century. His first-wicket partnership of 172 saw Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) win by eight wickets, nullifying Klaasen’s efforts.
“Our players played good cricket but Virat Kohli did his best against us,” Lara said in a press conference after the team’s ninth loss in 13 matches. Faf has been playing an excellent role for RCB throughout this season. He still has an orange cap. That way we were up against two world-class players and overall I think it was a good effort from our players.”
For the legendary West Indies batsman, however, it was difficult to explain how the team lost six home matches. Lara said, “It’s hard to tell from sitting here, but we have consistently improved.” Although we did not expect to win only one out of seven matches at home, it happened.”
